Bachelor’s Degree Sponsorship Proposal
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
I seek a sponsor to fund a Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (January 2027 intake). I already hold a Certificate and Diploma in Computer Science (UDSM). A second Computer Science bachelor would repeat that work. Cybersecurity is available locally but does not match my fintech, full-stack, and mobile delivery path. I cannot self-fund the nearest January intakes (Malaysia, Mauritius, United Kingdom).
1. Candidate at a glance
| Name / nationality | Sarah George Gordon · Tanzanian · Female · DOB 24 April 2004 |

2. Why this degree — and not the local alternatives
Not another Computer Science bachelor
Tanzania’s common next step after diploma is a CS bachelor. That path largely repeats certificate + diploma content I have already studied and applied in production for three years. It would cost time without adding the depth my career now needs.
Not Cybersecurity as the primary bachelor
Cybersecurity is valuable, but my daily work is product build and implementation: payments, SMS platforms, banking channels, APIs, and mobile. AI/ML sits on that stack. Security remains a practice I already apply in production hardening — it is not the degree that multiplies my current expertise.
Why Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: I already ship full-stack web, Flutter mobile, payment APIs, and banking support. AI/ML is the missing formal layer that lets me design intelligent products in fintech and enterprise — fraud signals, credit/ops scoring, chatbot/copilot systems, document and transaction intelligence — at corporate standard, not only as a self-taught add-on. Global demand and East African digital finance both move in this direction. The degree polishes theory I cannot get from repeating CS or from a cyber-first bachelor.
3. Fit with industry and return on sponsorship
- Fintech (now): Full-time Full Stack Developer at iMart Group — LipaPay live platforms, SMS desk, and production support.
- Banking support (completed): Craft Silicon part-time contract (3 months, ended 11 August 2026) — bank channels and SQL/API root-cause work.
- Build + implement (now): Laravel/Filament, Flutter, Linux VPS and shared hosting, staff handover, documentation.
- After the degree: Same delivery, with formal AI/ML — higher-value systems for Tanzanian and regional institutions, TechMorah client work, and employability at corporate fintech level.
- Accountability: Term reports, transcripts, and a short progress note to the sponsor each semester. Public portfolio remains the proof of applied skill.
4. Where I can study (January intake) and cost barrier
Closest January intakes identified: Mauritius, Malaysia, United Kingdom. Approximate tuition I have researched (TZS, per academic year; living costs extra):
| Destination | Indicative tuition / year | Affordability |
|---|---|---|
| Mauritius | TZS 35.3 million – 44.2 million | Beyond personal means |
| Malaysia | TZS 46.3 million – 67.4 million | Beyond personal means |
| United Kingdom | Typically higher than Malaysia (fees + living) | Beyond personal means |
Figures are indicative from current programme research and will be confirmed against the official offer letter. Living, visa, insurance, and flights are additional. I will accept the most cost-effective accredited AI/ML bachelor that starts January 2027.
5. Funding requested
| Preferred programme type | Bachelor’s in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (or equivalent: AI, Data Science & ML) — accredited university, January 2027. |
|---|---|
| Preferred cost order | 1) Mauritius 2) Malaysia 3) United Kingdom — whichever issues a firm offer I can complete on time. |
| What I ask the sponsor to cover | Option A (full): Tuition + mandatory fees for the full bachelor (typically 3 years) + reasonable living, visa, insurance, and one return airfare per year. Option B (tuition only): Full tuition and university fees; I cover or co-fund living where possible. Option C (partial): Any committed annual amount that unlocks an offer (e.g. 50% tuition); I will seek the remainder from other partners with your knowledge. |
| Indicative full-tuition range (3 years) | Mauritius: about TZS 106 – 133 million tuition only. Malaysia: about TZS 139 – 202 million tuition only. Living and visa extra — to be itemised on the university offer. |
| My contribution | Application fees where affordable; continued professional work in holidays if the visa allows; complete academic effort; no change of course without sponsor consent. |
6. How a sponsor can decide quickly
- Review this one document (purpose, gap, ask).
- Open portfolio and GitHub (proof of delivery, not promises).
- Read the attached CV (roles, referees, education).
- Confirm interest → I submit applications and share offer letters + exact fee schedules for your approval before any payment.
No verbal briefing should be required. The record of work is public. The academic case is simple: three years of CS already done; the next three years must add AI/ML, not repeat CS or divert into a cyber-first bachelor that does not match fintech product engineering.
7. Closing
I am a working engineer from Dar es Salaam with a clear path: certificate → diploma → production fintech and banking systems → bachelor in AI and Machine Learning. I am not asking to start computing from zero. I am asking for the one qualification that upgrades what I already ship. I will honour any sponsorship with transparency, results, and service to Tanzania’s digital and financial sector after graduation.
I am available for a short call and will provide any additional document (admission forms, fee invoices, passport, transcripts) on request.
